Hi, Officially May is the hot season in thailand so the weather should be good. Although the rainy season does start in june. In my experience it is best to only stay in bangkok for 2/3 nights. If you are all 22 and looking for a party then go to pattaya! This is the party capital of thailand. There are all sorts of bars there. From expensive bars on walking street where you can be paying £4/5 a drink to cheap bars in a place called Soy 6 where beers cost 70p. There is also a decent beach and loads to do there.
If you are looking for a chillout/ nice beach type of place then head to krabi it is one of the most beautiful places ive have seen and even though it is nowhere near as lively as Pattaya it is has a few side streets with rows of very lively bars on.

Pattaya it is! But Krabi sounds good too as were looking for a bit of everything really.
And the weather will be fine? I thought that different parts of Thailand were affected differently by the seasons! Koh Phangan seems a good shout aswell as it is meant to be quite dry. Is it not worth going to the North of Thailand?
We might be flying out from Singapore so what is worth seeing in Malaysia? Any Islands worth going to? Havn't done much research on this part of the trip so I'm a bit clueless!
Can anyone else recommend anywhere to go in May for a bit of sun, sea and alcohol...
hey Micky...when your trip is done, do you think you can post up your itinerary and some advice on what you wish you had done if anything? I will be in thailand months after you and would like current feedback on how things are/were over there. thanks!
