I'm planning my epic Cornwall (UK) to Capetown (SA) Trans-Africa adventure departing new year 2013. I'm planning on taking 2 LandRover Defender 130 pickups and and a Defender 110 so will have quite a few spaces available for anyone interested in doing something similar.
Sounds brilliant and I could well be interested in something like this, though it is a little too far ahead for me to nail anything down at the moment. But for the mean time, I travel very light, am a good driver, pretty resourceful and don't mind getting dirty. Also reliable - as in, when the shit starts flying, you wouldn't have to turn round to check I'm still there.
Any rough idea as to what a share of the costs would be? Obviously depends on how many are going I suppose, though I'd be looking at least UK to SA one way. Cheers.
Hey there, this sounds really interesting, I would love to do something like this! and it would tie in with my plans to go travelling in 2012/13. I plan on going to Oz, the US, Asia etc etc. I'm currently saving enough money to do this. I'm 23 BTW.
I'm actually a multi-skilled maintenance engineer, and i've been working on cars for around 10 years albeit mainly mini's, but know more than my fair share:P so i'm sure i could be handy
I've done a bit of off roading and i'm not afraid of 'roughing it' :P
I'd be interested in doing the full trip there and maybe back.
Any ideas of money/costs etc?

Hey I read your post! I would love to join in this! As of right now, I've never traveled to Africa before but would LOVE to go. I'm currently in college so I don't have a job or career to consider but I will have graduated by then so that may pose as a problem. However, I would really really to go so I figured I'd let you know that I am interested!!
