I am currently in the very early stages of planning my holiday vacation. I have from December 21-January 7th.
Have you been to Thailand? You can have a nice fun time there for Christmas and New Years if you are into partying. Thailand is very tourist friendly and easy to get around in. There are tours you can take during the day time. After New Years you could fly to Cambodia for a day or two in PP and a couple days in Siem Reap. That would mean a round trip flight to BKK from your country and a side trip to Cambodia and fly back to BKK for your flight home. Just another suggestion.
