Iceland!

I've already got a vacation booked for this year but I was thinking about going to Iceland for my next vacation. Has anyone been? If so what are good hotels to stay at that are a reasonable price and are comfortable, offer basic amenities and all-inclusive if possible? Also is a week long enough to go and what time of price am I looking at for transportation, sites, food/drinks not included in hotel price.

All inclusive in Iceland? Don't want to freeze?
Skip it

Just asking, after more reasearch I dint really care when I go. Thinking more winter break or spring break. And yes I know it's gonna be freezing lol.

I love it there. But its expensive and the hostel is not near the center. That was in 2001 tho! so maybe theres been a new hostel since. Blue Lagoon is a must.

You mean Reykjavik? You might check accoms here on TP by the way.

In summer (June-August) many schools are used as hostels, or at least low-budget accommodation. Even throughout the country in smaller towns or rural areas there might be buildings open. Busiest time of course, so plan beforehand.
You can check my photos of Iceland here on TP if you want. Only been to the southwestern part of the country, but for a first-time visitor that has a lot to offer. Gulfoss, Tingvellir, Skaftafell NP, the Geysirs of course. Reykjavik is not beautiful in my opinion but ok.

I actually found a tour online that i was thinking about. It's a quick 3 night 4 day tour and it's cheaper than the vacation I'm going on this year when you factor in air.

I don't want hostel like accomodations though, I'd like to stay in a hotel if I don't do the tour. I do have a whole year to save up for it and any other places i want to go.

yeah Reykjavik, theres a few cheap BnBs too if you hunt around

Utrecht, why did your first post say skip iceland then your second come out with a list of information? seems your unsure of your advice?

Uhm, what?
1. Why can't I?
2. The OP came with more information about what she'd like.
