How much did your RTW flights cost and where did you buy them? and how much spending money are you taking for how long your going? im basically do the same trip as this next year... but opposite way.
Just relax, im sure you'll meet people straight away and for parts of it travel around with other people/groups if all goes well. Just be safe and sensible and you should be fine
The tickets were about $2500, not counting the London to New York part (which added about $300 on to it.) Got the tickets through AirTreks. I'm planning on going for 10 months, and will hopefully keep my budget under $2000 a month.
When do you leave? If you are doing the trip in reverse, we must be crossing paths at some point.
Let me start by saying your trip sounds AMAZING. You're going to see some really amazing stuff. I can totally relate to your anxiety, but I have a feeling you will get much more out of the trip if it turns out you are traveling alone. Be sure to stay at and check out the youth hostels everywhere, and don't worry. You will meet people for everywhere =) I'm traveling alone for the first time this June after I graduate college for a month in Europe. I'm SOOO nervous, I almost cancelled my trip a few weeks ago. I'm also a 20-something female traveling alone, so I totally understand your reluctance.
Can't let a little anxiety stop you from seeing some amazing, certainly life changing things. I've noticed that the more I read up on the places I'm seeing (especially looking at pictures of all the great stuff I will see) has helped calm my nerves, and term them into excitement!

Oh ok thats not too bad, im still working out if its cheaper to book some flights as i go. I'm not planning on leaving till Jan 2012 if i save enough money in time, could be delayed by a couple of months it depends. Can't wait though...!
