Hey, I am in the same boat as you andyroo. I am going to head out to australia in october for about 6 months. Thinking of doing the oz experience the first week in sidney. Than I'll head out and explore the east coast. I be going alone and this will be my first trip of this kind so I am really excited. Do you have any plans so far? Where are you leaving from? i'm taking off from montreal(Canada).
hey andyroo25 im kinda in the same boat as you.
my friend and I have decided to go travelling in sept. we booked our visas and flights, however any further than that we dont have a clue. not sure where we wanna start, what we wanna do. we just know its cold and wet in uk n we wanna see the world!
we want to be by the beach and we gonna need to work. has any one got any good ideas??
Sydney is always a popular starting point for young backpackers, although I stayed in Melbourne for 2 months a couple of years ago and there were plenty of backpackers down there too, plus its a great city. I'm now back in Aussie (I'm a Kiwi) with my husband, we're on the Gold Coast but the work situation is a bit tight here, so I wouldn't recommend it as a place to stop for a job. Nice place to stop for a week and chill on the beach, do the theme parks etc though
Hey guys,i'm thinking of doing the same around september. Not really sure where to start either!!I have been to oz for a months hols before so have a bit of an idea about booking hostels and good trips to go on but have no idea where to start with a job, bank accounts etc. Going alone makes it worse!!!
Hiii I've just booked my flights today, so excited
I'm flying to Christchurch and arrive on the 13th nov, spending month travelling around, then fly to Melbourne on the 13dec.
I've already booked my hostel for over Xmas and new ur in Sydney, staying at the wake up hostel which was quite expensive £27 a night but the reviews are very good and great location.
Anyone Gona be doing the same as me??
Hi, I'm an Aussie and would advise either starting Melbourne Victoria, then Sydney New South Wales and then north to Airlie Beach in Queensland or visa versa so as not to have the cost of backtracking. My son went up to Airlie Beach on the Whitsunday Coast and got a job no worries, he met lots of Canadians and Americans while there, always bringing a few home to Melbourne when he would visit. They all had jobs such as waiting food & drink and as deck hands on tour boats & fishing boats and lots more there. It's a magical, must see place and lifestyle. A few of his international friends have moved down here and have all been able to quickly pickup work also.
Hope this helps you.
