I want to visit America with a friend who has a criminal record for ABH and causing affray. A sentence was served of 1 year. This was 12 years ago. What is the likelihood of obtaining a visa if he declares it and follows the correct procedure? He declared it with Australia and obtained a visa after 6 months. He has been to America before and never declared it as he thought it was drug convictions that were the concern. If he didn't declare it again, will the fact he did with australia be public information now?
