I paid for etickets on AIR FRANCE to go to Niamey Niger recently and today had a call from the travel agent who said that AF is requiring that anyone traveling to the part of Africa where Niger is to pay with a cashier's check rather than a credit card so my reservation is being canceled until I provide such a check. The agent said that this is a protection against fraud. I've not had this happen when traveling to Niger before during a period of 30 years. I just wondered if anything like this has happened to others.
