So, got to Sydney 2 weeks ago, living with a friend, so that's pretty cool. She lives here and is a bit older than me and has a serious job. I've met her friends and they're cool, but in the same situation. Because i've not been to a hostel to stay here i've missed the ol' traveller bit! The going to bars, meeting loads of different people. I'm from the UK, i'm here for a year, would like to meet people that are here for a while and build up some friends!

Hello! I got to Sydney On Saturday after the (brave or stupid) decision to do some travelling alone! Aside from a friend I know out here, but is in Queensland atm I don't know many other people except my dorm room folk! Here till the end of the year in Australia but not decided on my traveling bits yet!

A few weeks I reckon! Before I work out my travelling plans anyway! Not done any of the pubbing either yet as my bodyclock was mad! But certainly up for outings with fellow travellers now it's nearly right!

My brother and I have been here about a month now and are in a similar situation. Living with a host family makes it harder to meet fellow travelers. Would love to get a small group together for drinks one night soon!

Shotz4027: Why are you living with a host family? Isnt it better to live by yourself or in a shared flat with other backpackers? Just curious
