Atv quad bike riding, Thai boxing, Phuket zoo.. There are heaps to do in Phuket just wait to you get there and see what tickles your fancy
The is worth a visit from Phuket.
Hat Karon is a nice area to stay in if you are looking for an alternative to Patong.
I made the mistake of going to Phuket, assuming that Phuket is a small island... Apparently the beaches that they have been marketing for decades is light years away from the town.

I don't advice you to do Phuket zoo, it's a terrible thing, the animals are not good treaten... I advice you to check this website, the trips are very different than the speed boat trip and you will enjoy your day!
You can also go to the night market (Saturday and Sunday evening) where you can find everything and much cheaper than Patong, Karon...
Go diving! It's cheap and amazing. You might even see a whale shark.
