Any Advice for camping in South-East Asia ?

Hi

Jonathon,
My advice is forget camping in SEA. It is so hot, humid and rainy much of the year that camping would be a nightmare. There are hostels and regular rooms in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos & VN for under $10 in many cities. Or join and see what is offered in places you plan on visiting. Lugging a tent, bag, etc around SEA makes no sense IMO. Good luck.

I agree with Jon, and what about all the snakes, spiders and leeches?

Ditto Mike. It's a waste of time/effort/resources for a casual tourist to try and camp in SE Asia, and for that matter (with rare exception) almost anywhere all the way through to the Indian Subcontinent. If you're willing to camp then there are hostel/guesthouse options that are dirt cheap and make way more sense.

Have fun.

Cheers,
Terry
