Bali has been very touristy for decades now and it shows. You can book a number of different tours and you'll find that as one tour leaves, another arrives in a factory like process.
Lots and lots of eating places for all budgets, but mostly cheap.
Beaches are good but sellers can be a nuisance.
Mosquitoes are out in the evening. And pickpockets in the daytime.

It's been a few years since we were in Bali (2004), but I remember the waterpark. Spent a day there and enjoyed it. We also took a few trips to the other side of the island, though those usually involved spending at least one night there. It's way way quieter there, and a lot more beautiful in my opinion.
Kuta is specially famous for the Waterpark mentioned by you and I'm sure kids will really enjoy it, also you would like the famous Spa, beaches here. The night life is really entertaining here.

Thank you very much to you all for your advice and direction,john and cyberia thankyou very much for the links i will check them out now,sam thankyou for the advice i think we will def. go to the water park and if we got time may check out the other side of the island too.
