Landing in Thailand tomorrow!

Just wondering if there are any tips/recommendations on anything i should bring?
Is onward travel absolutely needed?
Should i bring a netbook for 2 months in south east asia?

In Bangkok on Jan 27

Leave the netbook home - plenty of access at your hostel or guesthouse or internet cafe. Nobody will ask about onward travel. Enjoy your pad thai!

Hey Jared,

I'm from Ireland which is one of the countries which they will grant a 30 day holiday visa upon arrival but you need onward travel. I'm going to Australia in March but didn't know the date so I applied for a 60 day visa before I left (without booking an onward flight) and didn't have any problems. As far as I know, they don't always check but can do. I would recommend bringing your netbook...unless you have an iphone...will do the same job!

In Bangkok at the moment, drop me a note if you wanna go for a beer!

Cheers,

Ger.

arrived last night.

jetstar would not let me check in without first buying an onward ticket so i had to buy a ticket to vietnam about 2 hours before my flight. heads up to everyone traveling on a 1 month visa.

also decided to bring the net book. so far its good. we will see. i might ship it home if too much of a hassle.

Jared

I like the idea of bringing a netbook. They are small and don't take up too much room. How much do you wanna trust internet cafes especially if you need to do some online banking. An iphone or ipod touch could also do the job.

Heya,

I will be hitting bangkok streets on 31st Jan all the way from edinburgh...sooo excited!!! If you are bringing any of your gadget, please do care about it...as thailand streets are dodgy..even in ur hotel/hostel rooms, do look after your stuff.. as for me, i will be bringing my Ipad..wohoo!! cant live without internet..

Enjoy your travel guys!!!!
