Tickets in New York

We are going to NY with our 2 sons (aged 15 and 17) for 5 days in the Easter holidays. One of the highlights for us is to see an American baseball game and a musical on Broadway. Can anyone suggest how best I can purchase these tickets? Is it better to buy them now before we go over there?
Thanks
Jane

Jane,
I am not expert on NYC, but did find this for Broadway. I see 'Jesus Christ Superstar' is playing. Also 'Godspell, 'How to Succeed..' 'Chicago'. Many great choices for musicals while you are in NYC.

Take a look at The tickets. There are much cheaper than NY Yankee tickets. The only day the Yankes are in NYC during your stay is April 5th. Opening Day and tickets are not affordable. Better go with the Mets!

If you are sure of your dates, I would try to book a musical and the ball game before you arrive. They will not get cheaper the closer you get to show time. Good luck.

Vegas Mike,
Thanks once again for your tips! Have booked NY Mets - Atlanta Braves via your recommended website!!

That was the easy one Jane. Now you have to decide on what musical to pick!

If they have Chicago on I recommend it ...although perhaps this isn't something that teenage boys would really be interested in?

Don't buy your Broadway tickets before you go. If you go to Times Square on the morning of the show that you want to see, there is a box office where they will sell discounted tickets for most shows for that day. You can get $200 seats for $50 some times! If you want to see Wicked or The Lion King however, go direct to the theatre and buy them there, again, on the same day that you actually want to see the show.
Every time I go to NY I do this and I've saved myself hundreds of $$ by doing so. You get really awesome seats that they need to fill for a lot cheaper.

Check out and -snip-
