I'm a fan of the Flight Specials app from Virgin Australia. It's handy, simple, includes their Happy Hour sale right in the app, plus you can set alerts for when prices to your favourite destination drop below a certain amount.

The Map. Googlel Maps. I've been in some pretty interesting areas where I can read the signs, but seeing my flahing blue dot on the map has enabled me to navigate those cities without appearing to be the tourist I was.

I have the EasyJet app on my phone and use it to browse flights and check prices. Trip Advisor is the other app I use quite frequently. I've downloaded a few of the Triposo guides to various places and have used these a couple of times when travelling. The main issue with using apps when overseas is that unless wireless is available, I have to use roaming and charges can be high, especially outside of Europe. I use the National Rail Enquiries app all the time for local travel in the UK if that counts!
