Ive had an idea. Now I know they guys on jersey shore are mostly dicks, but the idea of getting 8 strangers, from the uk out in mimi or jersey for 6 weeks sounds like it could be so much fun? Was thinking we could rent accommodation and have an awesome 6 weeks or so and make plans from there. Any one ever thought about this or got any interest? I've lived in the states for two summers before and know it would be "awesome". Mitch
You will have to do your research!! Rents on the New Jersey shore can be very expensive. You also have areas that are "dry" -- no alcohol -- others that are family orientated. People are booking now so the longer you wait the less likely you will be able to get a house for the full 8 weeks. Jobs down the shore are not as plentiful as they have been in the past -- but if you have connections you most likely would find one.
Working on a tourist visa would not be legal, but it is done all the time. Finding a landlord who would rent to 8 young Brits will probably take up most of the summer, and then would require an enormous deposit. Just trying to be a little realistic!
It might be cheaper to buy the property, and then resell it.
