I'm planning a trip to Hungary summer 2012 and also want to visit Vienna and the Czech Republic. I'm willing to fly into Germany though if it's less expensive. No idea where to begin! I can fly into any of those destinations but plan to spend most time in Budapest. Any advice on most economical way to do this? Where to fly in/out, using trains between cities versus renting a car - any advice is most appreciated. FYI - I'm traveling in from Charleston, South Carolina, USA. But flights from CHS can be pricey so I can always look to other nearby hubs. Thanks so much!
Ryanair does cheap flights to Budapest. If it is too expensive to fly direct, fly to somewhere like Hamburg, Paris (Beauvais) or London (Stansted) that they fly to and use them for the last leg.
You can get a train or bus between Budapest and Vienna.
Budapest is lovely and safe for solo traveller , try to fly to London LHR from US with BRitish airways they have lots of offer or Aer Lingus to Dublin also cheap and start your EU trips from Dub ir London Stanstead ( from LHR to standstead only 2 hours with stansted express coach ..and catch ryanair to bratislava or vienna , from here jump to the train or bus to Budapest , prague , must see places , and continue to brussel and A' dam you gonna love it !! Have fun -
