Hi Leigh - I'm heading to Melbourne at the end of August. Booked a hostel in the CBD for the first 2 weeks until I figure the place out. I'm on my own so wouldn't mind meeting other travelers if we are there at the same time.

Hi Leigh - I struggled to pick one as well but decided to start out in the CBD because it seemed easier to get to from the airport and figured I'd be exhausted from the flight. I'm staying at the YHA Central then moving to Urban Central. I also heard St. Kilda is good. Let me know what you choose. Good luck!

Hi Caitlin I've booked Habitat hq hostel in St Kilda, I understand why your staying in the CBD but I thought to myself ill have been travelling from Uk for nearly two days so another few hours wont hurt ha. we have booked a private room for two nights, were going to see whats what and then take it from their basically. what are you planning on seeing in and around Melbourne?
