Where would you go with £2000

Hi All,

Have to say eastern Europe is pretty incredible it has a bit of everything, for culture places like Prague, Krakow Budapest are great and Croatian beaches are amazing.

Flights from england would be about £120 return so you would have alot of money to spend whilst you are out there and may be able to do and see more than if you went somewhere that you had to spend alot of money on flights.

Once out there interail is a very cheap and easy method to get around and see alot

Turkey or Egypt. Plenty of culture, plenty of nice beaches.

Mexico is a risky proposition these days, especially in the north. The gang violence is at an all-time high with a lot of innocent people being caught in the crossfire. Odds are that you would have no problems while you were there, but you should be well-informed of the places to avoid if you do decide to visit Mexico.

Turkey: Such a nice country! From western Istanbul to south Mediteranean to fascinating South-east. There is a lot to do without hassles, easy transportation and great food.

Jordan: For a lot of the Middle-east culture without dangers. Amman, Death Sea, Petra, Wadi Rum desert with the bedouins. Around Aqaba there is good snorkeling to do. You can also cross to Egypt for better snorkel/diving.

Madagascar: For a more intense trip on the big island. Poverty, cameleons, lemurs, baobabs, a mix of africa and indonesia. Beaches are superb around Anakao. Unless you have a driver, prepare for long and uncomfortable roads with taxi-brousse (public transportation)

Hi Laura,

I would head for Morocco! I'm here right now and loving it.

I've traveled to several of the main cities, but am now staying in the beach city of Essaouira. Laid-back and wonderful. I'm getting ready to explore the nearby secluded beaches on a horseback ride.

You can find reasonable accommodations and I see many women traveling alone here. I feel safe, trusting my intuition. The legendary Moroccan hospitality is real, and the cultural mix is magnetic.

Tibet! To be a men to the highest place in the world!

Your money. Your dreams.

That money can even take you to the quarter of the world, if you follow your dreams. Someone said Egypt, some other said Turkey, Morocco, everyone gives examples of hospitality and everything but the truth is, they may not be very kind towards you, or you may hate the heat or the cold, wherever you go. Or, little things can make you happy, as they can also make you upset.

But, if you go where you want to go, where you dream... well, then you still can have bad moments but there will be one less worry within your mind; I haven't seen the place I dreamt a lot... Go India or Mexico, if you don't like them, then next time, you don't need to go or even think about them, how about this?

Good luck, take a nice book with you...

Kevin

if i suggest you my country, Pakistan, there are lot of beautiful place too see, you will love to see the northern area.

Both India and Mexico are great choices (been to both personally). There will be many more beaches to enjoy in Mexico this time of year (currently most of India is over 100 degrees Fareinheit (37 Celsius) with 90 percent humidity as the main monsoon time is from June to September). If you plan to go soon, I would strongly prefer Mexico (just stay out of the states of Chihuahua, Sinaloa, and Sonora (all in the northwest) and you'll do fine.

Visits to the states of Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Guerrero, Michoacan, Jalisco, (all beach states)and Guanajuato (inland) would make for a great trip. Just stay a short distance from the major resort cities and the price of hotels/motels drop tremendously.

If you plan to go this fall, then India would be a great choice as the weather will improve a bit. Just stay out of the far north in December and January as the winter hits the Himalayas at that time. Beaches in India are not so much for swimming as they are for historical sites. Many of the main religious sites are close to beaches or cities just inland from beaches--particularly on the east coast.

Good luck with your choices--and let us know your final decision.

Come to Tanzania (Africa) and see amazing places and different animals+beaches
