I am a new traveler...Want 2 know about traveling 2 Montreal

NewTraveler has indicated that this thread is about Toronto

Hello. I live in Quebec. In my opinion November is the worst month of the year in South Canada. Temperatures are close to freezing level but not enough to have snow. Leaves from the trees are already gone, many birds have left fo winter. It's mostly raining and grey all around with sun setting at around 5 pm. National Parks have mostly closed since the end of Fall. However if you come to see nightlife, buy christmast gifts or watch hockey games it can be a good time.

Montreal is about 7 hours by bus from Toronto. You can take Greyhound or Coach Canada.

You can also go by train with Via Rails. http://www.viarail.ca/en/trains/ontario-and-quebec/toronto-montreal It should cost you between 70$ and 140$ for a single way drive.

You should stay more than one day in Montreal. It's such a unique city, you will not regret it.

François

the metropolis of the province of Quebec. Quebec City is the political capital but Montreal is the cultural and economic capital of Quebec and the main entry point to the province. The second largest city in Canada, it is a city rich in culture and history and a well-deserved reputation as one of the liveliest cities in North America. Montreal is the second-largest French-speaking (as a mother language) city in the world, behind Paris. The population of Montreal is about 1.9 million, with 4 million in the metro area.

If you only have three days, you should probably pick either Montreal or Toronto.

I agree with rotch re. weather in Montreal -> you may have more luck in Toronto... But Montreal is so much nicer!

If things are really bad in Montreal, and you don't want to hike up Mont Royal, you can alway hide in the massive underground system. Here is a link that describes the underground city...

Or you could go to the Biodome -> your tour starts off in the jungle!

If your lookin for more input from fellow travelers, a list of the things you are interested in will probably help get you more input.

Enjoy
