I'm 19 (I'll be 20 at the time) I've been wanting to visit Australia for a long time.
I'm thinking about going in Late May or June for 3+ weeks not quite sure yet.
I've never travelled alone but it should be fun but even though I'll be slightly nervous.
There's NO need to be nervous. You're going to a country that speaks (almost, haha) the same language, watches mostly the same movies, listens to mostly the same music, eats mostly the same food, wears mostly the same clothes, etc. It also has a superb support network for foreign tourists including budget backpackers, etc.
In other words Australia isn't an exotic or intimidating or difficult destination in the slightest, it's an easy place to travel and just different enough to be really cool and fun.
Bottom line: Relax and have a gas.
Cheers,
Terry

Thanks
I hope I'd be alright as I can be shy although I'm very independent .
Yeah I'm avoiding Europe because they don't speak the same language I'd find it hard and I've been wanting to go to Australia for years now.
I'm guessing I'd start off in hostels. I'm more worried about if I get lost and I won't know where I am.

They have maps. They speak English. They're friendly and approachable.
Honestly, you're worrying about non-issues.
Cheers,
Terry
