Debit/credit card

Hey,

Nationwide doesn't charge for overseas withdrawals with their current account. Also the HSBC advance account doesn't charge, but there is a monthly account fee so it depends how much you travel as to whether it would be worth it.

Post Office used to have no foreign transaction fees...

Cheers,
Terry

The bank may not charge you but the ATM you use may charge you instead. I took out a travel card which I use in USA which is free from the travel card company but I've found every single ATM that I have used here has charged me. :-(

Some cards in Canada pay foreign transaction fees as well... worth investigating further for UK and other cards as well...

Cheers,
Terry

As you are in the UK you may have heard of, or seen on TV, Martin the expert -

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/ - read what the site has to say under Travel and money,

i.e. the subject is fluid and this will be up to date advice.
