I'm planning to go on a road trip in the states for 2-3 weeks in February 2013. I'd ideally like to be in New Orleans for Mardi Gras, but also would like to visit Texas, Tennessee, New Mexico and anywhere in between. I plan on hiring a car and staying in cheap motels. I'm a little bit nervous of doing this trip alone, despite the fact I'm 36 and quite frankly ought to be a bit braver about it. If anyone is interested in coming along, sharing the costs obviously, I'd love to hear from you. I'm female and live in the U.K.
