Heya, im 22 and traveling alone to Sydney from 1st September for 6-12 months and know nobody/trying to organise where to stay and how to meet people etc, is anoyone else in the same boat/there in September onwards?!

I'm pretty much doing the same thing as you. Work in Sydney for maybe 6 months and then go other places. But to be honest, I do t want to make any concrete plans, I just want to go with the wind ahhhh so excited! The more people I talk to, the more I can't wait! Going to be amazing.
I have a friend that is going to come over and meet me for new year and we're going to go skydiving together!!! Ahhhh can't wait!!!
I'm from Surrey, near Thorpe Park lol. Where are you from? If everything goes to plan, I'd like to stay in Oz for the 2 years then do Thailand and other parts of Asia, and Fiji and the Cook Islands, just everywhere I can :D

I'm taking 5 months out of work so I'm starting in South Africa at the beginning of August then travelling to cairns and down to Melbourne, then nz, Fiji and all through Asia! Ahh! But year all alone.
I'm from Hertfordshire! My friend has just been travelling for 6 months and she did a sky dive at mission beach in oz and said it was UNREAL!

Oh so really similar to my plans then! Although I don't know who will be there when, I know a few friends going to sydney at different times, my old housemate is there briefly at end of September which will be nice and another in November but hopefully by new year I have made some friends to spend it with over there which will be incredible!! all is so exiting both your plans! I'm so nervous the fact I know nobody although I'm hardly quiet or shy!

Literally EVERYONE I've spoken I has said you will make friends, unless you're an alien haha. I used to panic about that but now I'm just so confident it will be fine, I just want to get there and do it
Ahhh I can't even talk about it without feeling like I want to explode with excitement x
