Cost of living/ Budget Advise

Basically i'm looking to go travelling early next year around end of February time, we've got a list of countries these being;

I am convinced there was a response in these forums recommending US$100 a day as a guide but I can't find it now

I did a quick search for (as an example) in February and found there are hostels with beds available for £20-25, some with free breakfast included. Eating cheaply you can get away with meals for less than £7 but an average meal at a restaurant may be closer to £25. A bottle of water/soft drink averages £2-4 and a beer is £4.50-6.50, though you can always be charged more in some establishments! Shopping at grocery stores can cut your meal costs but I would always add a little extra to your budget for transport, activities and incidental expenses.

New Zealand is similar in costs to Australia and of course you'll find Thailand and Bali a lot cheaper - away from the tourist hotspots!
