Hi I'm going to Berlin alone at the end of October for a week, my first time abroad alone. I'm not one to dwell in museums, go on sightseeing tours or basically the kind of 'traditional tourist' stuff (I'm 18), I'm into more cool, weird stuff you wouldn't find at home, aswell as shopping and checking out sites of historical interest to me (I'm interested in horrific, shocking history) So here's my week itinerary:
I'm sorry you won't be there earlier in the month because I just found out Berlin is having a festival of lights the 10th-21st. All sorts of monuments and buildings lit up with colors and projections all around the city. I'll be there the 18th-24th so I intend to take the bus tour on the 18th.
A restaurant called Nocti Vagus has "dining in complete darkness" which I thought would be different to do. The meal is pricey, 39 or 59 euro depending on the night, and gets mixed reviews. You choose from four menus, eat in COMPLETE darkness and there is entertainment based on the theme for that night.
I'm also one who usually hits the weird attractions like sex museums (Vienna and Miami) and torture museums (London, Amsterdam). I've been to a concentration camp in Poland and it was very sad. I don't think I need to see another one.
Have fun!
