A few hours in Malaga

I have around 4 hours after I land in Malaga before I join a tour of Andalucia which meets back at the airport, so after I've stored my bag I plan to get a taxi in to the city. Can anyone suggest where I should be dropped off and what I could do for this short time? Is there a nice area/square I could stroll around or a nice walking route through the city that would take in some of the sights? I'll be there in early March.

Facing the port of Malaga is a park, at the western end is a tourist information office, this is perhaps a good point to be dropped. You can pick up free maps of I think 8 different themed walking tours.

We walked from there down the length of the park to the bull fighting stadium, tracked back through the fortifications below the castle (the alcazar?) to the roman forum. Close by is the Picasso museum, cathedral and plenty of architecture. We completed a triangle with the main shopping streets which brought us back to our start point.

I'd echo the waterfront opposite / to the east of the port. Alternatively, the is relatively small, and you should be able to get a pretty good impression of it in an hour or two (it's nowhere near as impressive as Sevilla's Alcazar, let alone the Alhambra, but still very nice) - but I kinda assume that the tour will include it.

Thanks a lot for the info both of you.
