Hello! The exact same happened with me. Me and my friend were meant to be going and she changed her mind. My nerves are kicking in big time haha! I leave in April to head to OZ on a WHV. I am 23, from Scotland. Laura
Hi Laura. Nice to know other people are in the same boat! What are you doing about accomodation and meeting people when you get there? I really cant decide wether to use one of the organised groups Ultimate Oz/ Intro Oz or just go it alone and chance meeting people in hostels! Everyone keeps telling me it'll be fine and i'll meet loads of people but i its still scary ha. Are you planning on working as soon as you get out there?
Yeah that's exactly same for me! I know a few people over there at the moment but the initial getting there where to stay etc, scary haha! I would like to work when I get there, work over their winter and travel a bit more from around sept onwards. I fancied trying out fruit picking. Will you be working?
Yeah my plan was to work and save up some money to be able to travel a bit over the summer. Weirdly enough the fruit picking appealed to me as well, my friends who are over there now say its hard work though! Think i would prefer it to being in an office. Still feel pretty clueless about it all, think i have a lot of research to do! Visas ect. Are your flights booked?
Yeah I have my visa, my flights booked, just to open my bank acc and get my tax number and insurance. So I'm on the right track just no idea when I get there. Yeah meant to be really hard work but I'm the same I've worked in an office since I left school so anything must be better haha. Where are you thinking of heading first?
Your slightly more organised than me then, ha. I have the funds just need to put everything into place. My plan is to fly into Sydney then go on from there. Where are you heading?
I'm heading to perth first but only because I'm visiting my uncle there. But will be moving on from there. Thinking Darwin for fruit picking maybe. I would like to have a job&apartment set up for me heading over. But will see what happens. I just have no idea really ha.
I'm doing the exact same thing but not until november this year, I will be just about to turn 27 and right now i'm so clueless as to what im doing where im going etc!!
So all 3 of us in same situ haha. Ill be heading over first so when I go I will give any tips, advice etc.
