Selling flight tickets

At the risk of inciting nasty spam and furrowed brows, I have flights I can no longer use and would like to sell.

Hi there,

The website looks genuine enough, although that's no real indication...

At the risk of stating the obvious, have you checked with the airline about a refund? I ask because some months ago I booked some tickets - at the cheapest fare, so generally assumed to be non-refundable, with Aerolineas Argentinas. I simply sent them an email explaining the situation and that I would no longer refund the flight. I was expending themso send me on my bike but 7 days later the money was back in my account!

Worth a try!

Good luck with offloading the tickets - remember the name change fee can be very high...For intercontinental flights it can be over £100 with some airlines...

Hi Will,

Thanks for your impressions. I had the same summary so far.

While I haven't called to ask for an exception, the strict, no-frills ticket I purchased is the only one the budget carrier does not allow refunds on.

The worst (best?) part is that the crazy awesomely cheap tickets are still awesomely cheap even with the $50 name change fee per person per flight.

Thanks again. I'll keep digging up more.

Just to add something to increase chances.
Maybe pay for that 50 dollar namechange yourself (or half of that for example), it might give you that extra chance of getting your ticket money back and costs you little extra.
Cheers
Mike

Thanks for the suggestion, Mike.

I've started to look at eBay after all (it's the trust issue) and noticed a few people covering the fees. Time to bite the bullet I guess.
