Is there any chance to get to Cuba from Cancun or Mexico, by Ferry or short boat Cruise ?

There is no regularly scheduled passenger ferry/boat service to Cuba from anywhere, including Mexico.

I would recommend you flying with Cubana. The price is usually less than $200 per person. If you don´t want to use your US credit card to buy a ticket you can buy your ticket in the terminal of the Cancun airport.
If you have a choice of departure points Mexico City is a waaaaay better gateway (offering Aeromexico, Interjet and Cubana) than Cancun (with only crappy last choice Cubana.)

If you are in Cancun, I guess getting to Mexico City in the first place takes either money or time as well.
But then again: a return Cancun-Havana is around $275, while the cheapest I found from Mexico is $375 (also Cubana), and $400 with Interjet. Aeromexico...can't even find Havan on their website, although it should be there...?
So even if Cubana is 'crappier', for such a short flight I wouldn't be bothered by that.
