cape Town-Port Elizabeth 'Bazbus' 25th may-3 june 13

Hey anyone!

I did this route 18 months ago and it's beautiful. I'd recommend while you're in Cape Town to do the Baz Bus day trip to Cape Peninsula -it's a lovely day out. (This might be included in your ticket?) I'd also recommend a township tour; I took a full day tour which included a township visit in the morning and Robben Island in the afternoon. I really liked Hermanus along the garden route and wished we could have stayed longer; Knysna is also a really nice little place. The whole of the garden route is gorgeous though.

Have you booked anywhere to stay in Cape Town yet? I stayed in 2 hostels - and then , both of which were really good.

Hi,

Great thank you for your help! Ill check if my ticket includes this. Yeah Atlantic point is where i am booked in for a couple of days, so that good to know! Hope i'll gain some travelling friends there too.

Thanks again
Jo

Hi,

If you like to walk or hike, the Botanical gardens on the backside of Table Mountain can make for a good half to full day. Bring a lunch and hike through some amazing micro environments throughout the gardens or hike the back trail to the top of the mountain and make a full day of it.

The Wharf, is a great place to hangout at night or weekends. Lots of pubs and food selections and free live music and entertainment on the central stage.

Have fun.

Great Thank jrjonesmn, I def like the sound of The Wharf and believe i am not far from table mountain too

Thanks Jo

I forgot to mention the Table mountain hike - I don't know how I forgot as it was fantastic and the views are fabulous as you're walking up. It's better to do it with a guide; I used Ridgway ramblers and the guide Binny was excellent.

I was very pleased with BazBus and all of the hostels I stayed at in South Africa. I had a fantastic time there and would love to go back.

If you're after a bit of adventure, head to Backpackers Paradise in Oudtshoorn. They have packages they call "joyrides" where you can rent a mountain bike for the day. They'll drive you out to a nearby attraction and then you cycle back on your own time. I did the 54km one from Swartberg pass and stopped at all the attractions on the way back. It was a terrific day biking through some gorgeous scenery.

Cintsa is a great place to just chill on the beach.

Cape Agulhas (southernmost point in Africa and where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet) was a neat little daytrip out of Swellendam.

You can't really go wrong with any of the stops along the Garden Route.

I'd recommend while you're in Cape Town to do the Baz Bus day trip to Cape Peninsula -it's a lovely day out. (This might be included in your ticket?)

I completely agree. I really enjoyed the day tour to Cape Peninsula as well. It was an excellent day with a great driver/guide.
