2 months in thailand

Me and a friend are travelling to thailand for 2 months for july and august.
Is it worth it to visit cambodia, vietnam and laos while we're there?
Also any good recommendations of top places to visit?

I'd say keep it simple and don't try to fit too many countries into 2 months, though I would definitely recommend Siem Reap and Phnom Penh in Cambodia. The locals are so friendly, the history is inspiring and it's not too difficult to get to from Thailand.
In Thailand, I'd say:
Chiang Mai and Pai for beautiful villages and jungle trekking
Sukhothai for a lovely temple city
Ko Tao for incredible scuba diving
Railay for challenging rock climbing
And Ko Pha-Ngan & Ko Phi Phi for the parties!

For 2 months you may need a tourist visa. (Depends on the country passport you enter with.) Some tourists to Thailand can enter on a free Visa Exemption good for 30 days along with verifiable "proof of onward travel" within that 30 days. For 2 months you should have a budget worked out ahead of time so when you ask for hotel help you can say at what price fits your daily budget . If you can fly to other countries that will save time but may cost more. (Laos, Malaysia and Cambodia you can reach from Thailand with ground transportation.)

Don't skip Bangkok! For Thailand a visit up north to the Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai area and a visit to a good beach area keeps many tourists happy. You can pick up some travel guides on Thailand (plus the other countries) and see what really interests you. Maybe your hometown library. Then you can ask some specific questions. Even Google type checks will give you some "what to see and do" information. Research scams to avoid, currency and how to get from airport (or bus/train station) to your hotel.

I don't think visiting 2 countries will be too much of a burden.

(Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam all have their own separate visa requirements.)

Good luck.
