Have monkey will travel

Ok I do not really have a monkey ( not a real one anyway) but I do need travel, it is not a passion or a hobby or an outing it is a non negotiable need. I would readily argue that it is as important as O2, water, food and pints on Sunday. I need the perpetual motion of trains, planes and sampans, the crush and madness of alien ports, the olfactory mosaic of spices, sweat and raw dirty life. I need to feel history moving under my feet and the challenge of kung fu phonetics along with the grace and wonderful madness of strange people and planets.....without this I will grow fat and decay in front of the TV, wondering what will become of ( enter reality show star) this week.

Just go.

Have fun.

Cheers,
Terry

Yeah head to eastern Europe for a less touristy experience. And probably skip quickly through hot spots like Prague and Krakow, sadly full of English lads boozing. See Belgrade, Warsaw, Poznan or Kiev. Tallinn or Riga. Loads to see, cheaper than western Europe, and not very much on the tourist radar yet.

Paris - I found Warsaw prettier!

I was wondering about EU, have a weakness for Polish honey wine. I used to buy by the case at the hippie mart. Now I am wondering.....how hard is it to learn Polish? and what kind of trouble can a fat kid get into with 10 days?

Terry that has been the way for years, but with a short time, want to make the best of it....

Ooh honey wine?

P.S. Welcome to Travellerspoint

Travelling is my hobby and I love to do it. Whenever I want to give me a relax, I plan for a trip. Eastern Europe is my favorite place for tour. I have traveled 50% of that area. I suggest you to go and enjoy there.

P.S. Welcome to Travellerspoint

Honey wine is amazing and what comes from Poland must be made with honey from magic bees and unicorn tears. It is wonderful, like toe curling, singing at the cat, running barefoot in the snow writing terrible poetry wonderful. It goes well with a nice sharp cheddar also.
Most hippie grocery stores will have it, I highly recommend it.

Been to Cornwall? They have bars called Meaderies and the honey mead comes in both natural flavour and fruited versions like blackcurrant and strawberry.

Wow! really? Is that just in Cornwall? I need to go there! perhaps plan a Mead holiday! That was the original trip to Belgium, a beer holiday for um research ( I am a brewer at home)
I imagine the recipes are old as well. How is Cornwall in the winter? that is my next time to travel.
