Australia 2011

Hey!!

Traveling by yourself my first advice would be to plan your trip very carefully in terms of where you'll be and in what areas. Next, plot your budget carefully, by yourself you only have that to rely on. Plan where you'll stay carefully, I'd look at this site for places to stay Now if you can get someone to go with I'd recommend that if possible, but as long as you are careful and social you'll probably make friends in no time.

Hi
Really Australia is a great place for travelling in the world because of their natural beauty. If you want to go for Australia, then don't forget to visit Melbourne and Sydney. These two are the most romantic place for Australia. If this is your first trip, then you should careful about your plan. At first you make a plan chat then you can start you mission.

Thanks.

Hi Sarah, There is no problem with travelling to Australia on your own. And about planning, you really don't have to be that careful. The way I see it is, if you wouldn't do it in the UK, don't do it in Austraia. Unless you have OCD about planning!

When I was in Australia, I planning nothing, not even my hostel for when I landed. And lots of my friends, even the female ones I met out their did what I did. The way I see it is, you plan stuff here, if your going to Australia just go with it, and see where you land.

Nervous? Well as I wrote above, I planned nothing, and it only really hit me when I was flying over India and my first thought was "omg what have I done ahh" Anyway it all worked out, I met great friends, and some I still see now even after 2 years.

I didn't plan any of my trip, I said i wanted to see stuff, but didn't set dates or times ect. My friend however planned every part of his trip down to the flights, and now he wished he didn't cause he couldn't change a thing. Now I'm off to New Zealand in December, and apart from booking my hostel, everything else just happends, when it happends.

Need any advise info, message me

Hi Sarah and guys

I am doing the WHV in Australia next November and will be landing in Sydney - alone . Am not going to lie, im absolutely bricking it!! I havent really planned a route onwards from Sydney at the moment, and still caught in 2 minds of whether to plan...or just go with the flow!

Are you guys doing it completely solo? or are you going out OzIntro style to get you settled for the 1st week? I again am still largely undecided on this matter! Have you planned a route?

My advice is don't go swimming in any creeks unless you want to be eaten by a croc.

Hey,

I just got back from a year in Oz and I had a great time. I'm a 23 year old female and I was scared out of my mind when I left to travel solo. But you know what you realize pretty much right away? Traveling on your own isn't hard, its so simple, and I was rarely really alone. there are always people willing to hang out and I ended up traveling most of oz's east coast with mates I picked up. Some of the people I met abroad are still some of my closest friends despite that we now all live in different countries.

My advice, dont worry about it too much, and do not play your entire trip. book a hostel for when u land in Sydney (or where ever u start) just for ease of mind and to not feel so lost when u get there. But dont plan too much after that. Its fine to have a look at some touristy things you wanna do, but honsetly, once you're there you will hear about other people's adventures and about good hostels to stay in and you will be sorted (and will wish you hadn't wasted so much time planning it all before). especially because its so easy to meet new people and then plan adventures together! its no good to have a set plan you dont want to diverge from, you could really miss out!

So enjoy Sydney (i lived there for 6 month and loved it!) and enjoy Melbourne too, cause I never lived there and wished that I had!

And do remember that oz isn't that cheap. Alcohol and food are especially expensive, but there are a lot of cheap internal airfare and buses!

You will have a blast!
