2 nights in thailand

peaches... has indicated that this thread is about Thailand

2 nights stop-over means that you will probably stay in Bkk - most younger types go to Khao san Road area.
i'm sure others will come up with more specifics.

i usually stay at either "Le Fenix" or Reno - you can google them both - they aren't Khao San rd.

you certainly need to go into town and not remain near the airport.

THe alternative is to go to Pattaya - it's about 1.5 hour by bus or taxi and the hotels are cheaper and plentiful.

a lot depends on what you want to do.

Here's a checklist for first timers to Thailand.....

I'd recommend staying in the Soi Rambuttri area - it's close to Khao San Road and has plenty of cheap accommodation and food options. I stayed at Bella Bella and My House and both were fine.

Kinda depends on your budget. If you’re looking for somewhere nice the Navali is amazing and not too expensive and right on the river and still close enough to Koh San Road to be near the action. Villa Cha cha is a great cheaper choice with pool and locally run. Not big chain hotel which is nice.

In 2 days go see the weekend market if it lands on the right day. Its huge you can get everything, literally. Otherwise there are many temples, floating markets and Lumpini Park is always nice place to chill in a big city.

When you come back for 5 days head off to the rover Kwai and stay on a floating hut then go onto Ayutthaya only 2 hours north of Bangkok with ancient temples, the former capital of Bangkok! If you looking for a jungle experience not too far from Bangkok go to Khao Yai national park as it’s stunning, full of waterfalls, (even the waterfall Leo jumps off in the film the Beach!)

Have fun!

Aw thanks for all your info guys greatly appreciated, we ended up booking a place called Lub d I think? Any opinions?
