i have a one night stay in bangkok waiting for a connecting flight, i land at about 20:00 and have to be back at the airport for about 05:00 the next morning i am trying to find a location to stay with a ok guest house that is some where in the middle of the airport and the silom area i have a friend with me that has not been to bangkok beforeand it is an experince if nothing else that you should see once

You arrive at 8pm and fly at 5am! The taxi from the airport will take you and hour to get into Bangkok central, Koh San road area and you will have to be back at the airport at least and hour before your flight so leaving central bangkok at 3 at the latest. Don't bother getting a nights accommodation. Put your luggage in storage at the airport or even try and check it in for your next flight then go out into town to see the capital by night!
If you are looking to put your head down for a couple of hours and have a genorous budget. The Navali hotel is the best place in Bangkok, still close to the action, on the river and has great food!
