Book a route or book flights on route??

Hey guys,

It all depends on where and when you're going.
Sometimes a RTW fare is cheaper than buying individual tickets - other times it works out the other way round.
It's 99.9% certain that if you ask for the price of a planned route, the agent will give you the RTW fare and not bother working out individual tickets. To them, a fare of (say) $5,000 isn't necessarily the best or worst deal - but it's quick to calculate and pick up their commission on without spending too much time.
A good agent will work out the best and cheapest, according to your route and itineries.

Hello,

Me and my boyfriend are doing a trip starting next Jan & because we didnt want to go america and wanted to work in australia for up to a year, it was better for us to book individual tickets. All the rtw we could find had to be completed within a year.

We booked a single to Malaysia (departing Jan 2010) and we are going to have 4 months in S.e. Asia - That flight cost £200 and then in May we have booked a single to Melbourne from KL and that cost £50.

I'm a novice with all this - this will be our first time travelling, but for us, booking seperate flights worked out better. It could end up more expensive but we do have more flexibility.

Hope you find a good deal xx
