Ask me whatever you need about Argentina

Hello Local

Im am travelling to Argentina in March/April 2011.

Im planning on spending a few days in BA, Bariloche, Mendoza, Cordoba. I have 4 weeks to travel around, do you recommend any other must see places or certain activities?

My friends and I would like to stay on a ranch and go horseriding for a couple of days, where would you recommend we do this?

Thanks for your advice.

Danielle

Hi Danielle,
It is subject to budget! You may choose among a number of "Estancias" where you may spend some days havign a good time horse riding, doing some ranch dutties... My advise is stay in Buenos Aries, downtown or sourrandings. The city is worth to be known in deep. Then go to a ranch in Cordoba, for instances. Spend two or three days horse riding, hicking.... and then go to Mendoza and do the wine route and visit the Andes. That would be a good trip.
Should you need further information, you may count on me.
Cheers. Rodrigo.

Well at first, how old are you and your friends? Are you travelling by bus or you can take some flies or at least one fly? Do you prefer wildlife rather than cities. Of course I have suggestions but let me know some details so I can suggest what would be better for you!

Ehm... why exactly is the age question relevant?

Would it be very rude of me to make a general comment about TP not being a dating service?

Is not the same to travel with friends when you are 22 than we you are 26-29-30 for example. And specially for nightlife because in Argentina there are places where you won´t find people between 18 and 28 because they are all stuyding in public universities at the cities. So if I know their ages and the exact day of March when thay are coming I can suggest a better itinerary. Also younger people tend to be more adventurous and you don´t register all the service details as long as it is ok... and when we get older perhaps we like adventure but with a combination of better services and we have the eyes for details. That´s another difference for suggesting a ranch for example.

nice one for the post!

Im going to Argentina in February/March with three friends (ages - 21/24/25/25).

One of the lads dad is great for itinerarys cuz he's been all over the world. However I was wondering if you could give me a quick must do list of the things to do using your own experience. We're also gonna see a bit of Chile. I think we'll be using internal flights cuz we only have 3 weeks.

I love to see the nature and wildlife and scenery of a country. Contrarily, I also enjoy bustling cities and nightlife. We will have a few heavy nights drinking along the way.

Also, are the girls as beautiful as the women of Costa Rica?

Thanks for any help!

HI si403 I will answer you tomorrow cause I have work now. I have a very good and local place that you will really enjoy.

If you have two months, you have plenty of time for seeing the highlights of the country. And as you are young, I suggest you going to Iguazú...but in bus and with some stops before. The stops could be:

Gualeguaychú: The most important and local carnival in Argentina. Lot of young local people, drinking and parties the 24hs at the beach, carnival, wildlife, good food. You have to try this place. Is placed 280 km from Buenos Aires - 3 hours of bus-.

You can continue your trip stopping in other towns with smaller carnivals but good food and termal waters as Federacion, Chajari, Monte Caseros. Then you can go to iguazu and return by flight to Buenos Aires or to other city -Salta could be the best option-.

For Argentineans that have travelled abroad, we always say that our population is the most beatifull because we have a mixed salad of many ethnics -spanish, italian, german, english, austrian, irish.....al mixed with latin- so here you can find all the possible combinations of human being. Most people agree that the nicest women and men are in the cities of Rosario and Cordoba -they also have one of the best nightlifes-. Actually, in April the first of us in my group married and to celebrate the stag party we went for the weekend to Rosario.

nice one for the post!

thanks for the info i will take it into account.

I think my post was misleading, we are there for 3 weeks, feb 21st through to march. But the last week will be at the rio carnival.. so only 2 weeks in Argentina. is this long enough for argentina?

what date is the carnival in Gualeguaychú?
