Living abroad and paying for it

Hi,

I have been away now for 15 months teaching english in Korea. No plans to go back to the UK.

Nice question to put up here. I also don't understand how the persons leave their family and loveable persons for the sake of money.

Not much money to be had in most cases. It's more for a new life.

Think you missed the point. It's not about money, it's about having a new experience.

Well, the easiest and most obvious way is to get a job as an English teacher. It doesn't pay a lot of money in some places, but it lets you stay overseas for a long time, travel a lot locally, and experience how the people there actually live. I work in Dalian, China, and I get 14 weeks a year in holidays, so it means I can travel a lot around China and Asia. Cost of living is low: a very nice 1 bedroom apartment rents for about $200/month. Bus fare is 15 cents; taxi is less than $2 to go almost anywhere in town. If you work at some private schools you can save over $1,000/month.

Just don't get a job teaching kindergarten. It takes WAY too much energy.
