I'm traveling around south america for 2 months visiting brazil, argentina peru, bolivia and chile - I was planning on taking the 2 flat pin adapter that you can use in america.
It's always nice to have a poster here, richie...but you could have got this info more readily elsewhere.
Chile has a 220v , two round post system, similar to some places in Europe. Only occasionally, does a place have a third hole for the ground.
Brazil has outlets that often will accept both North American and European styles.
Peru has North American style flat points...except for some placeswhich go European
Bolivia is primarily two round poles. La Paz has the North American style. It is a place with 120. The rest of the country is 220
I would say bring adapters for both kinds. The British plug is retarded. It's a big assed plug, in my opinion.
