We are in Colombia for two months and we are planning on going to 'Cali for the Feria de Cali Festival' between 25 and 30 December. We also wanted to spend New Years Eve there with traveler friends, but after researching on the internet I found a couple of stories that New Years Eve in Cali is a holiday that Colombians celebrate at home with their family and friends and not in clubs or on the streets. One story even mentioned the street being completely deserted. Could anyone tell me if this is indeed true? If so we might want to change our plans and celebrate New Years in Cartagena for example. What we are looking for is just a cool place to dance and party through the night, whether it is in a club or on the street/beach. Does anyone of you know if Cali is a good option for New Years? And if it is not a good option,what would be the best place to go? Thanks so much in advance!
