I have always been a restless person. I love the idea of traveling, and I will look for any means to do so. I get pumped to go 1 town over. So when I was still a teenager I joined the Army and got to do a lot of traveling. The only issue I have with doing it with the army is that no matter where you go you're going for work not pleasure. Even though I got to go to all these places I didn't get to really experience any of them at all. For example when I deployed I had to have a flight cross over in Germany. I love Germany because I have german heritage and have always wanted to get to see the country myself. I spent the whole time in Germany in a little building with my whole battery (company) and never even got to set foot in what I would consider the real Germany. I was stuck only getting to see what I was allowed. Thats how it was anytime we went anywhere. isolated from what anything was really like. The only time I felt exposed to anyone the whole time I was in the army was if it was another person in some uniform (us or any other form military), someone that wants to kill me, or someone so helpless it makes you feel subhuman just to know that I played a part in the misery of the person.
