I think i would have to say haiti. All the trees are cut down and every one is living in complete poverty but haiti has an amazing energy like no other. (Its better to travel well that to arrive)
It's the journey, not the destination
Think if it is a SINGLE country.... it will have to be the USA!!
if it is an AREA... think europe basically beat others by a mile!!!
Don
hmmm....I don't think I would choose the USA...but it is so big it seems like it has everything. Mountain ranges, deserts, boral forests, tundra, praries, tons of coastline, even tropical (Florida) But it doesn't have the rich history of so many places on the planet! It is only a few hundred years old! There really aren't any remaining settlements of times past, no old churches...etc....then again, I am a history buff
I think for me it would be Burma, because the people are so friendly and there is so much to see.
I would say INDIA, I'm an IndiaFreak I really am. I think that's because its totally the opposite of the west. I WANT TO GO BACK
I loved southern Thailand. The natural raw beauty held in the islands. Plus the friendly people also add so much to the experience.
For me it is Malaysia. It has such a wide variety of places to see and the people there are great. That, and for all of the places in Malaysia I've been, I have never felt like I was in a "bad area" or unsafe at all.
That's even more than I can say for my home town.
Vietnam is the one for me, probably for similar reasons others have put about their choices.
For me it would be New Zealand, but I almost spent a year travelling there. Guess the more time you have to explore a country and get to know its citizens the more you appreciate it
