Which tripod to buy?

Hi

if I would (I dont)carry a tripod with me while travelling it would be one with flexible legs.

i use a benro CF travel angel series tripod. It is rather lightweight and small. This is a China brand.

I use a Feisol CT-3441 carbon fiber which is very light and easy to carry.

Have you considered a monopod? Doesn't give quite as much stability as the tripod but easier to carry!

Mugiwara,

I've heard the monopod argument before and I don't understand it. It's great for sports or situations where you have to keep the camera steady in good light, but for long exposure shots, it's useless. Unless, of course, you can hold it perfectly still.

- 39 cm packed down
- ball head
- weighs about 1.5kg
- stands 150cm fully extended

I believe that's everything you need!

You know what? I may get one of these myself.

Let me know how you make out!

Bill

I have a Manfrotto for my canon SLR i find it is compact, lightweight and will be taking it on my travels in October

Hey... i from Malaysia.
As i know Joby tripot is convenient for travel. Is different with the traditional tripod.
Each Gorillapod is made up of 30 or more fully articulating ball-and-socket joints. You can bend and twist them into any shape, and they'll always keep your camera steady!
I get one from my place is MYR 160.00.

There are tripods (with screw in top) that are just 8" long. They fit in your pocket and cost (in UK money) just £3.

I use UFO POD from Bedox, it's a pretty convenience tool,
just put in pocket wherever I go, and use it with the strong suction cup.
