Seeking a RTW travel companion.

Hi All.

Hi Fiona,

I am 24 and live in Brighton, UK.

So I’m looking for a travel buddy to travel with on a round the world trip!!

No plans of yet and loads of money to save in the mean time, but I want a first timer like me who will plan with me the best trip ever!! Either it be a boy or a girl, I would prefer someone English and
I am looking for someone who will be impulsive, adventurous, a thrill seeker, who will do volunteer work of need be, rough it if we have too, like water sports, hiking, trekking off the Beaton track, road trips, who is honest, reliable, open minded, has a great sense of humour and who will plan and decide on what activities we do along the way together. Basically someone who will try anything once!
I am all of these things, plus fairly level headed and I am looking for someone similar.

I thinking 2010 at some point, basically as soon as we both would have enough money to do it and do it well. But this would give us great time to plan our route and research some great places to visit.
I am up for going anywhere, but would like to see the following Auz, USA, Fiji, NZ, Asia, Europe, India, Africa, Egypt etc...

Anywhere and everywhere!!

Let me know if you’re interested

Hi Ladies...

I am also 24, living in London and wanting to escape from the daily rat race...I have actually booked to go travelling at the end of October...I am firstly heading to India for 2 months, and then Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos for 4 more months. I am not sure when you ladies are thinking of heading out but it would be great if you are around these parts of the world when I am...

As you are both under 26 you should head to STA Travel for flights etc as an option, as they give you discount if you're our age!

Hope to hear from you soon! Kirsty x

Hi everyone.

I am planning on going around September/October 2010.

I am planning the following route.

Thailand-Laos-Vietnam-Cambodia-Thailand-Australia-Fiji-New Zealand-Argentina-Chile-Peru-Ecuador-America-Canada-Norway-UK.

I only recently decided to do this so my itinery is constantly changing as I am finding new places/new things I want to do as I am reasearching so the plan can be changed.

I plan about 10 weeks in South East Asia before flying to Australia where I am hoping to be for around 6 months in total, starting off in Melbourne, then to Canberra before going up to Sydney and fruit picking for 3 months or so, both to earn some extra ££ and also incase I want to apply for a 2nd year's visa(You need to of done 3 months work I am told) after that off to Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Then off to Fiji to have a couple of weeks relaxing etc, then New Zealand for another 2-3 weeks before heading to South America where I plan to stay for around 12 weeks and hope to include a trip to the Galagapos(sp) amongst visiting Beunos Aires,Chile and Peru.

Finally, fly up to America and spent a few weeks in L.A, then off to Canada for a further few weeks before going to see the Northern Lights in Norway before heading home.

As of yet I do not have a travelling buddy, have a couple of people who have said 'Yeah, I am up for that' but who realistically I know won't come and one who is seriously thinking about it but it depends on her family situation as to whether she comes or not.

Basically the above plan for me could be altered, I am an easy going male who gets on well with both males and females, enjoy experiencing new things, outgoing person who likes a challenge!

Hi Fiona,

I'm going to the U.K. on the 20th of Oct. after US and EU, dont know anyone in the UK . I'm actually from Melbourne Australia, honestly I got no one to have a fun with while I'm there... I'll swap with some good Aussie travel tips. Actually most Australian cities are nice, don't know how to put them in order because each have a different character and weather. Best time to go is around Oct to Dec, (start of spring). I come back from my travel around 2nd week of November, I might be able to show you around depending on my work schedule. Drop me a message whenever you feel like.

All the best.

hi all,

i'm a 27yr old female from uk.

This is the trip i am planning for, hopefully, beginning of April 2010 (dependent when i finish my Msc!):

London-Tokyo (Japan 3-4weeks)-Shanghai(3-5days)-Hong Kong(3-5days)-Bangkok(Thailand3-4weeks, thinking about adding in Laos, Cambodia,Vietnam(another 2months?)-Kuala Lumpar(2days)-Singapore(2days)-Cairns(Oz 5-6weeks)-Fiji(1-2weeks)-Auckland(NZ 1month)-Buenos Aires(South America 3-4months:Argentina; Chile(Santiago, Patagonia); Ecuador(Quito); Peru(Lima); Bolivia(salt plains);iguazu falls, up to Rio-London

I have been quoted £2400 from trailfinders for the bare bones of this trip - it has internal flights in oz/nz and south america included. I was told by STA travel to budget as follows: £1000/month japan, Oz, NZ and £500/month south east asia and south america.

If anybody fancies joining me for this give me a shout. I will be travelling solo at the moment. I won't be able to go earlier than april 2010 but am fairly flexible after, no later than June probably but depends on climates...

Cheers, Sophie
