Overtaying Indonesian visa in Bali

I will be overstaying my indonesian visa by a whopping 3 days in Bali.

I have also had the same experience, only mine was by 6 days, upon entering Bali, the customs officer was chill and said warned me i would be paying a fine of 100,000 rupia per day im over, i was all good with this.

When it came to leaving the country, the customs were'nt as chill as they were upon entering!! ... i got past a couple of 'checkpoints' with no worries, but @ the very last with passport control, they realised what was up and called over several officers, who without words pretty much man handled me and ushered me into what seemed like an 'interogation room' ... i felt like terrorist! ... i wasnt sweatin it to much and was trying to explain i realise im over my allowed time & can pay the fine!! - convinently for them it randomly went up from 100,000 to 200,000 rupia per day, of which i didnt budget for, which meant for a stop @ the cash machine, this didnt bode well! ... many questions unrelated to the situation followed with the hope i would miss my flight (i think) ... thankfully the Bali gods were on my side and the plane was delayed by 2 hours! - in the end i payed the rupia and was on my way to many a people starring @ me over the situation that they witnessed!

Not saying this will happen to you bud,. 3 days is alot shorter than nearly a week, and presume i just had 1 of those 'unlucky' experiences! ... still its one of the many experiences i got from my adventures!

Thanks for your reply

Yeah I'm basically going to have the money ready when I arrive at the airport and get there pretty early just in case.

Hi,
If your visa is a 30 day visa and your are overstaying 3 days I would be getting a 60 day visa- worth the money in the end.
I am pretty sure the fine is now officially $25US/day for overstaying- not 100,000 rupiah sounds like someone was on the take.
It is not worth the risk. Indonesia is a country of massive contradictions and overstaying on a visa can lead to lots of different situations- even possibly jail.
Pamela.

I would go with a 60 day visa why bother with the hassle at the airport and the uncertainly of the outcome .

I

I'm already in Bali so I can't get an extension. I'm sure my I've already checked out the penalty info so I should be fine

Well, we can only wait and see what happens to this traveller- hopefully nothing!!
Happy travelling.
Pamela

Hi my name is sonia. I have overstayed my visa in indonesia for 20days and now i want to go back to my country. Please can anyone help me.. What should i do and what excuse do i say when i go to the immigration office.. Any help will be useful.. Hope to hear from anyone soon. Thank you

Thank to everyone who shared his or her ideas with me in this forum. I have been able to go back to my country sound and safe. Although I went through a lot before going but all I had to do was to pay my fine and leave but I was asked many questions about why I overstayed and if I have committed any crime before leaving but thank God I was clean and now am home safe and sound . this site is the best ever. Thank you all once again
