globalticketservice tickets

ilan_m has indicated that this thread is about England

Hmmm, you must be confused because I for one do not remember us (Travellerspoint) ever having had these guys as advertisers or in any other way being connected with them (or any other ticketing service like this for that matter!)? Also, I should point out that a search in google is by no means a recommendation from google that you should book with that particular company, but I'm sure you are aware of this....

Ilan,

Your experiences, if true, at the hands of the unscrupulous, deserve sympathy. I am surprised that a Norwegan company would practice such methods.
Have you written to their chief?

If you have, and have been ignored as well as having been wronged, try sending a piece to the Editor of one of their leading daily newspapers. In addition, you might send a similar story to www.blagger.com/ which you probably already know about.

As for the future, well I'd say your money is best kept in your pocket. Watch your favourite sport on the TV instead. The world is full of thieves and vagabonds and with the expansion of the Internet and modern communications, the place is heaving with those with little else on their minds than to rob, and steal for their own self interest.

All that aside, I notice that Global Ticket Service has all the usual payment protection advertised on their site. Presumably you paid by credit card. Your credit card company will help you if you copy all the paperwork to them and place the matter in "Dispute"

Best of luck.

To support the statement towards Globalticketservice I also have a similar experience with this company.

I ordered planetickets and hotel to meet some friends and go to a concert. On the internet site the tickets were paid and confirmed sent by post on a spesific date. 1 1/2 months later I still had not recieved any tickets. I called and was promised that the tickets would be delivered to my hotel on a specific date. I asked the reception 3 times every day for four days and nothing had arrived. The day after the concert was finished I recieved the tickets, and this fraud company claims that everyting was in order and that they have done everything according to their terms and conditions.

I hope that the starter of this thread will report this company to VISA or the creditcard company used to pay trough internet. Since this company operates trough card payments I belive they will meet some problems if the card company stops the validation of payments due to a lot of frauds.

Personally I will NEVER use Globalticketservice again and advice everyone to stay clear. This was also in Norway and to my knowledge the manager has office there, so knowing that fraud must be the policy of this company.

I bought 3 tickets for the Barcelona-Real Madeid game (scheduled to 4/1/06) through this site on the 1/22/06 for 495 EUR a ticket. The order was confirmed & the money drown. We bought air tickets from Israel to Barcelona & planed our trip there based on the reservation. All this time we could see in the site that our order is confirmed. 9 days before the game, after not receiving the tickets as promised, we saw a message on the site that our order was cancelled & the money will be refunded. On the same day & the day after the site still offered the same tickets to the same game for 795 EUR a ticket!!! They haven't answered any e_mails & were very rude on the phone. It seems it was mutch more profitable for them to cancel my order & sell my tickets for almost twice the price - leaving me with no tickets and no options to get any that late before such a game. I hope you do not advertise them any more if you want me (and many others) to consider google as a reliable site for advertiser.
I have printed proof for everything said here, if you like I can fax it to you...
best regards

i don't get one point: 495 euros per ticket just for the match or including other services like hostels and transport?
it's an incredible price for a football match, just CL finals reach those prices !

I know i shouldn't say this maybe but sometimes it's much better to go there and ask touts. In Italy, if you pay attention that the tickets aren't fake ones, you can get inside a CL semifinal with 80-100 euros

I met Irish guys who came for Milan-Lyon quarter finals and they paid 50 euros for a third tier in San Siro which was a good value, all in all.

I started searching google for anything related to global ticket service and "fraud" or "scam". This forum post is one of the links that came up... I am getting pretty concerned about the whole process-

I purchased tickets back in January for a June 26th game in Kaiserslautern; shortly after the purchase (all online) there were 8 transactions through clearing agency's on my credit card that amounted to almost $1000. After several attempts to contact via email (No response) I called them to try and notify that this had happened. I cannot say for sure that this was directly related to Globalticketservice.com, but I am still suspicious.

Anyway, I did receive a confirmation number for my purchase; but at the beginning of May, they sent an email asking for my passport and credit card to be faxed into their office for validation purposes. I am not comfortable with this at all, but not ever having to make these kinds of purchases in Europe I am wondering if it is normal??

We have planned a 3 day trip through Frankfurt with the rest of our vacation in Italy, specifically to see this game. I am extrememly concerned that it will be all for naught if we do not receive the tickets.

Has anyone received their tickets from globaltickets.com?

I ordered tickets for the England Paraguay game through this company. The tickets arrived about three weeks ago, about 2 days after the email asking for credit card and ID details (I blanked out the account and card number when I faxed it). The tickets look genuine in that I have some obtained through FIFA and they are identical. The only problem is that the name on the tickets are not the names of the people who will see the match i.e. me. I phoned the number on the website (which seems to be a German for World cup tickets)and got an immeditate response. I was told that the details had been sent to FIFA and that the tickets were OK (reference made to the chip in the ticket). Explanation seemed reasonable but I checked the FAQ's at the FIFA site which said that no personal data is stored in the chip. Overall I have tickets that look ok. My name is not on the ticket but the explanation given is 50% acceptable. I will end up seeing the game or have incredibly expensive genuine FIFA souvenirs.

Hope this helps.

they sent an email asking for my passport and credit card to be faxed

Are you serious! Ide NEVER Fax my CC or Passport to anyone that wasnt a Governemnt agency - and my CC not even then!

I am getting more and more concerned about this company. I also bought tickets 6 months ago for the 26th June match in Koln and also got my credit card used in a fraudly manner weeks after this(700 EUR charges not made by me). I also got very concerned about this request on passport and credit card details done recently....this sounds very strange. That is why I barred almost all information...I hope I will received my tickets as indicated in their website where I still can see my order is ok. I am a regular internet buyer and this is the first time I expereince something like this...please keep sharing experiences...I will let you know when I receive my tickets and whether they are in order (if I do)....

Is it just me, or is it very odd (or perhaps wildly coincidental) that everyone with a complaint in this thread is a first-time poster?
