Toronto!!

Me and a friend or two are planning on going to Toronto in early March. We've never seen the city before and have no idea what to expect. We haven't booked a hotel or anything yet, because we don't know what part of town we should stay in. We want to be downtown, but safe.

Anywhere in Downtown is pretty much safe. Anywhere west of Jarvis, south of Bloor, East of Bathurst and North of the lake will be fine, and close to transit to shuffle you around.

Check out for general information on businesses and tourist attractions to check out, and for listings of concerts and events happening during your stay.

If you have any more specific questions, let me know.

Here's a thread with some more links and suggestions I've put together on what to see in Toronto...

.

I really should grab some pictures and put together a blog entry on my hometown...

Yeah, Greg's got you taken care of pretty nicely. I'm in Toronto as well. March is still early for the major festivals and happenings. But there should still be stuff going on in town, and of course the city itself always has its "regular" happenings.

Look for the big tower, the next mile or two north, east, or west are extremely safe 24 hours of the day (south is the water, but that's safe as well ). Pick up a free city map at any subway station (look for TTC signs) and there's a large tourist office in the large shopping mall at Yong and Dundas streets.

Toronto is so much fun!! The night scene is awesome, shopping is incredible. And anywhere right downtown is safe. I'm not quite in Toronto, but pretty close (in Hamilton)....Toronto is where we all go for our "girls nights" out!!! The city is alive all the time. Enjoy your trip!!!

We were in Toronto last March (05) we took a great tour from the city to Niagara, Niagara City & a winery which was great - it was a small tour only about 8 people. Jojo tours or summat l can recommend (l hope this doesnt count as spam?)

We stayed in Hilton - great steaks at THE KEG loved that so much!!

Enjoy your trip - but wrap up it was COLD when we were there!

The Hostel International is pretty decent and cheap. Close to most things.

Bring layers, as in March the weather can be very varible. It could be very cold (-10C or worse) or warm (up to 10C), and it can change on a daily basis. Therefore, it's best to have layers you can put on and off depending on how cold it is.

That's good to know. I know where that is (it's just south and west of the downtown core) but have always hesitated to recommend it to friends since I've never stayed in it and don't know what it's like inside.

Hey guys, I am planning to go to Toronto in April, does anyone know good and cheap place to stay for 2 people for 2 weeks? thanks
