Which capital city, would you rather visit, Seoul or Ulaanbataar? for atleast a week...
Hiya, Ulaanbaatar is expensive to get to and from, accommodation reasonable, cheap food, plenty to see and experience... Seoul cheap and easy to get to, accommodation more expensive, cheap food, heaps to see and experience... Seoul is a place I would definitely go back to... UB not so much...
I spent 7 nights in Seoul last year. As joffre says, there is heaps to see and do, food is cheap and the subway system is superb so it's incredibly cheap, quick and easy to get around the city. It's not a particularly pretty city but I liked it. If you're into hiking there are plenty of opportunities in the mountains and national parks surrounding the city. As you would have a week I'd also recommend taking a day tour up to the DMZ; I found this fascinating.
Mongolia might be cheaper but wouldn't it be more expensive to get to?
