Just become a member of this group and thought I would say hello.Have done a lot of travelling, mainly through cruise ships ( too old for back packing ). Will be going on quite a long one soon ( 7 weeks) around Central America and hoping to be able to do a blog of it as I go along.

I like cruises too, great way to see a load of places without the fatigue of packing and moving on every day. But I hope you can never be too old for backpacking. On my next trip I'm doing both - Pacific cruise followed by backpacking round Tasmania.
7 weeks is a hell of a trip round central America, are you sure you're not working on the ship to be going there for so long!

Welcome Rob. I too enjoy cruise ships as a means of traveling. I never did 7 weeks though. You will have to post some of your experiences on this trip.
Thanks everyone for all your welcoming comments.Having had the luck to take early retirement I am going to make the most of my new free time. 7 weeks on a cruise ship will be a tough job but hey, someone has to do it I certainly won't be working
